Minnesota must have enough of its own land to continue destroying in the Iron Chain.
North Dakota includes the Badlands and South Dakota is home to the Black Hills. The rest of our states are a bit of a yawn in the eye candy department. Now he seems based in Minnesota F-3 Gold wants to start grabbing land in the Mount Rushmore State.
Worst of all, they want to ruin the beautiful part of South Dakota.
Public comments are still accepted for an exploratory drilling proposal in the Black Hills National Forest! It’s not sorry Buffalo South Dakota, where no one will ever know, F-3 Gold wants start drilling near Lake Pactola Reservoir.
The US Forest Service has given preliminary approval.
The draft decision would allow drilling in the future, allowing 47 rigs on over 3 acres just around Jenny Gulch. Gold mining has always been a fairly important activity in the region. There’s a reason it’s called Black Hills Gold. But the Homestake mine in South Dakota Lead has been closed for two decades. It was once the largest and deepest gold mine in North Dakota.
Arsenic, mercury and cyanide are used in gold processing.
But you have to break some eggs, don’t you? Not everyone is on board with a Minnesota company ripping up beautiful South Dakota and bringing all the gold to the Twin Cities. But at least they’ll leave the arsenic. Or so say it Black Hills Clean Water Alliance. Their group believes there is potential for water supplies to pollute Rapid City and tribal communities. Plus, they have a catchy motto.
“Stop radioactive and destructive mining in the Black Hills.”
“Radioactive mining”? That’s got some spice. I might have to change my title. As South Dakota goes back in time to gold mining, North Dakota is opening the way by building massive facilities to bitcoins mining.
It remains to be seen whether this adventure will prove to be “fool’s gold”.
