Tennessee Titans pick quarterback Matt Corral to succeed Ryan Tannehill

Tennessee Titans brass pledge to Ryan Tannehill as a starter last week at the NFL Combine, but that may not stop the team from selecting a quarterback in the first round. In CBS Sports’ Latest Ryan Wilson Simulation of 2022, Titans Select Ole Miss QB Matt Coral.

Corral did not pitch on the combine due to an ankle injury sustained in Ole Miss’s Sugar Bowl loss to Baylor. He updated his recovery schedule last week.

“It went well” Corral told CBS Sports HQ of his recovery. “It was a quick recovery. The doctor said six to eight weeks. It started around six weeks, that’s when I started to feel like I was 100% back. You know, before that, it was just about throwing and lifting points, trying to put on some weight I didn’t really run a lot, but as soon as that six week marker came in and I was able to run, I started doing my five step drops, seven steps, I started running, training for the 40 (yard dash) I didn’t understand much because it was just two and a half weeks doing this. And you know, I figured if I wanted to do my best (I didn’t want to push it) and wait until my Pro Day on March 23rd.
