Richard A. Suk – Post Bulletin

Richard ‘Dick’ Suk, 74, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 31 at Lake Winona Manor – Winona Health. Dick was born September 4, 1947 in Duluth, MN, the son of Charles Gordon and Mildred Ann (Rich) Suk; he moved with his parents and siblings from Duluth, Montana before returning to Minnesota and graduating from John Marshall High School in Rochester. He was united in marriage to Vicki Howard on October 2, 1976, and their union was blessed with a daughter, Alison. Although their marriage later dissolved, Dick and Vicki remained very close as friends, parents and grandparents until Dick’s passing.

Dick spent many years approving loans as a loan officer, but he really belonged outside. He really enjoyed all the time spent hunting, trapping, golfing and woodworking. He also became known as a master in the kitchen as he prepared countless family meals for parties and it would become a staple in the family, especially for his grandsons.

Dick’s grandsons, Parker and Caleb quickly became the light of his life; the boys looked up to their grandfather and emulated his interests, especially his love of the outdoors, cooking, and sports. Dick took exceptional pride in following his grandsons’ football, basketball and baseball seasons as well as hunting season and what they did in the kitchen.

Dick will always be missed by his daughter, Alison (Chad) Springer; grandsons, Parker and Caleb; ex-wife and mother of his daughter, Vicki; brothers, Charles ‘Jim’ Suk and Robert ‘Bob’ (Judy) Suk; sisters-in-law, Sally Suk and Donna Suk; as well as nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Mildred; brother, Tom Suk; and his sister-in-law, Jill Suk.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Coffee Mill Golf Course, Wabasha, MN on Sunday, May 1, 2022. Short service will be offered at 3 p.m., friends and family can call beginning at 12 p.m. Casual dress please.
