NCAA: B1G upheavals for Illinois, Minnesota; big wins for Campbell, Portland St., Omaha, CBU

There were two upheavals on Saturday, both in the Big Ten, as the No.11 Minnesota beat the No.6 Nebraska, and Illinois went unranked and surprised the No.13 from Penn State.

And there have been a handful of conferences that have seen a changing of the guard as Campbell took a share of first place in the Deep South, Portland State tied for the Big Sky lead, Omaha took the first place in the Summit League, and California Baptist took over first in the WAC West division.

Line of the day: Taylor Venuto of Loyola Chicago had 21 clear kills in 33 kills and one assist, two aces and 10 blocks in a five-set victory of the Missouri Valley Conference at Evansville.

BIG TEN – Illinois (15-7, 8-4) fought to win a five at Rutgers on Friday, then took him to State of pennsylvania (15-7, 8-4) in a 20-25, 25-23, 27-25, 25-22 win.
