How former Tennessee Vols star Cordarrelle Patterson can set an all-time NFL record in 2022

Cordarrelle Patterson is one of the most exciting players to ever wear a Tennessee Vols uniform.

Patterson only had one season on Rocky Top, but it was an incredibly exciting season. Every time the Rock Hill, South Carolina native touched the ball, he threatened to score.

That’s part of the reason Patterson was a first-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Unfortunately, Patterson’s NFL career didn’t go as planned. But it was still a fruitful career for the former Vol.

In fact, Patterson may actually set an all-time NFL record in 2022.

Patterson, who re-signed with the Atlanta Falcons earlier this offseason, is currently three with Josh Cribbs and Leon Washington for the most kickoff returns for a touchdown (eight) in history. of the NFL.

The former Tennessee star spent nine seasons in the NFL. He’s only gone three of those seasons without a kickoff return for a touchdown. And he’s never had back-to-back seasons without a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Considering Patterson didn’t have a kickoff return for a touchdown last season, I’d say the odds are pretty high he’ll break the record in 2022.
