Bail was set at $5million today for the Shakopee man charged with a major meth operation that was busted by authorities earlier this week.
Saul Rodriguez Pineda, 38, was arraigned in Scott County Court today on five counts of drug trafficking, including four counts of first-degree sale of a controlled substance. He was arrested Tuesday after Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force officers and other law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at his Shakopee home.
The search of the property resulted in the seizure of more than 31 pounds of methamphetamine. The criminal complaint says the drugs were found in coolers buried in a wooded area of the property. Investigators also found evidence of a methamphetamine lab at the site.
The raid was the result of an investigation that began in Blue Earth County in early September after authorities received information about a man who allegedly sold large amounts of methamphetamine from his home. The criminal complaint states that prior to the execution of the search warrant, a confidential informant made three controlled purchases of methamphetamine in Pineda. Each of these controlled purchases involved a pound of drugs.
Pineda is due back in court next week.
